I've never really thought about naming the fish in my freshwater tank, but decided I would when I bought my first Betta. I mean they really are a different type of pet. Fish don't come when you call them by name like dogs do. I've found it does give fish some personality though.

Near the end of the post I'll show you how to pick a pet fish name for your new friend.

My first Betta, I named Sam because I wasn't sure if the fish was a male or female Betta. The next fish I gave a name to was Pat (the Crowntail Betta to the right). I made it to the pet store recently and picked up another fish for the second hanging wall tank. He's to the left above.

Now it's decision time. The first two names I gave my pet fish are fairly common names for a boy or girl. This time I'd like something cool. Like Nemo. Now there's a cool name for a boy fish. I could try naming him something funny too. I feel like I'm playing that game... name that fish! I'd like a name that's more unique than popular for the fish though.

Ok. How do you pick a pet fish name? I want to point out that my pet is a fish, so the name should have something to do with water or fish. I pulled up the handy thesaurus and looked up... water. A few names popped out at me. Aqua and bubble. One of those could be the first part.

How about a boy fish name? Bill, Bob, Jake, Henry. Those are all good fish names for a boy fish, but I want something unique.

Lets combine Bubble and Bob to get Bubblebob. That's funny. How about Aquabob? That's a cool name. This Betta has an attitude. I chose the fish name Aquabob for my new pet. Let's hope he likes it. Choosing a name for your fish can be fun. Just pull out the thesaurus and choose names that are similar to something about your pet. Do you like the name I chose?

Yes, this fishkeeper has purchased another hanging Betta bowl. I had to have another Crown Tail Betta Splendens. One is just not enough with the beautiful colors their fins present. The Betta bowl was hung next to it's companion fish tank.

What color will the new Siamese Fighting Fish be? Will the fish have a name? Stay tuned to find out! Or click ahead a few pages to find out immediately if you're reading this long after it's been posted.

I've been doing some research on nano reef tanks, and have already decided I'll be obtaining one. Some more research needs to be done before I acquire another fish tank though. The Freshwater Fish Tank needs to get cleaned, and cycled too. For now, I'm enjoying the hanging fish tank and Sam in his small aquarium.

Yesterday, the Hanging Betta bowl was installed. This fish tank was fairly easy to hang on the wall. The hanging fish tank came with a screw and the tank, and that's it.

This fish tank is obviously not as elaborate as this aquarium. It is perfect for me though. I can now turn to my left and see my new Crowntail Betta. The scientific name of this fish is Betta Splendens. He or she is red. The red-colored variety weren't as popular for some reason at the fish store I picked Pat up at. I havn't determined the sex of the fish yet, so Pat will have to do.

I'd like to note that you can hang this Betta fish tank in drywall directly. The screw was made for that. The weight limit was listed at 20 pounds.
I had some green gravel from the previous freshwater aquarium setup, so it was washed thoroughly and used. I had a fake plant, but it was too large. This fish tank needs some environment, so I'll need to make a trip to Petco.

There was a silver cap included that would cover the screw and make it look nicer. I decided to leave it off. It looks fine as you can see from the pictures. A row of 3 of these hanging fish tanks would be fun. I don't have the wall space for it though. For now, the Crowntail Betta is just right.

Do you have a special fish tank for your Betta, freshwater, or saltwater fish?

A fish tank doesn't just have to sit on an aquarium stand. This hanging fish tank for Bettas shows that.

When I was in Petco today picking up some gravel for the freshwater fish tank I spotted this hanging fish tank on sale for 25% off, or $15. You can never have enough fish tanks! This little aquarium is called a Hanging Betta Bowl. It's made by Aquatic Gardens. I notice that Petco carries many items from Aquatic Gardens.

I'm going to hang this fish tank next to me by my computers. I think I'll get a red colored betta to occupy this new fish tank. As you might know, it's not a wise idea to put two siamese fighting fish in the same aquarium. They'll fight to the death.

I also believe I'll name this new fish Pat. I usually don't name my fish. Only the bettas.

This fish tank looks fairly easy to hang and assemble. In fact I found a few people who gave a review of the tank. Some people wished it would sit on a table too. You can't please them all! Most of the reviews said the fish tank was easy to hang. I'll be hanging it below a picture I've got up. I know there's a stud in the wall there.

So this will give me three fish tanks. The freshwater tank, and two smaller fish tanks holding bettas. Do you have a hanging fish tank? Is it big? Id like to see it. If you're looking for a small out of the way fish tank, this betta bowl is perfect. It looks easy to clean. I'll be sure to let you know. Bettas are fun and vibrant fish to watch for very little money.
